Oxbow Hike

Piper and Mama set out for a beautiful hike at Oxbow park. Piper has been before with her school for a field trip, yet despite the fact that it is only 15 miles away, Mama had never been. What a beautiful place to spend an wonderful morning. We started our hike going down to the banks of the Sandy River where Piper played in the sand amongst the geese and osprey.

We Headed up into the deep mossy forest and sat down for an orange and granola bar. As Piper and Mama enjoyed our little snack, a deer decided to come say hello. She was not shy at all and was curious of Piper as Piper was of her. They watched each other for a while and the deer walked around our bench, hung out for a while letting mama get photos and Piper to get a closer look. We let the deer eat amoung the flowers and ferns and then headed back down the trail with a great story. Piper was very excited to see this beautiful deer so close. What a great day!!

Zurbano Family Reunion on the Coast

piper writes her name in the sand
Piper had a super fun time on the coast this weekend and had a chance to meet all of her Zurbano relatives. Family came from Canada and the East coast, California and Washington to gather for food, fun and games , some to meet for the first time, others had a chance to catch up on old times.

Piper had so much fun playing in the sand, collecting sea shells, flying her kite and playing tag with the ocean waves. After warming up to her relatives, she had a good time playing with all her second, third, fourth cousins and many other cousins once, twice, five times removed.

Piper's visit with Emma and Boss

piper and sweet little emma.

Piper helped mama and daddy make a nice dinner for friends Jamie and Jordan and their new baby Emma. Piper had a great time visiting the new baby...and getting used to the newborn cries since she will be big sister soon. Piper also had fun playing around with Boss. Boss is a sweet boy who wasn't quite sure what to think of this little person with so much energy. Ah Boss, don't worry-just wait till Emma grows up!!!!!
Piper and Boss. yep, he is a big boy!

Piper and daddy hula hoop like crazy

What a fabulous weekend. Piper camped out with mama and daddy for the Northwest String Summit at Horning's Hideout. We played, went paddle boating, hula hooped, danced, sang, watched peacocks and hung out with our friend Stephanie. Piper hung in there until Kellar Williams was over on Friday and stayed up well into the second set of Yonder Mountian on Saturday. We took off while Yonder was playing on Sunday so we could wash off the 4 days of dust and dirt.

Piper throws the goat for a rocking Yonder song. YEAH!

Vacation time at Nana's

Piper and Mama headed to the sunny and very hot southwest for a week of hot days filled with cool pool fun. Piper visited her Nana and Grandpa Larry in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Her Grandpa Walt drove in from Tucson and her Great Grandmother Harriet drove up from Prescott to spend time with Piper. Everyone had a great time and watching our little fish or "was it a mermaid" Piper. She started her pool days with arm fins to help her float and graduated to jumping into the pool and swimming to everyone completely underwater with eyes open. It was quite the experience to witness and Piper had so much fun. I think we clocked in with about 7 hours of swim time a day. A very tan and tuckered out Piper arrived home in Portland this past week glad to be home with daddy, but misses the pool (and her Nana and Grandpas) very much.

Birthday fun

Piper's best bud Grace has a little brother Leif who turned a big boy ONE this week. To celebrate they had the party at the Children's Gym in NW Portland. What a bunch of fun this was for all the kids! Piper had a blast on the trampoline and the seesaws, but her biggest fun was the rings. She twirled on those things forever!! What fun we had. We hope that Leif had a fun time too!!

Dan Zanes fun

Piper has been excited all week to go see Dan Zanes on Friday afternoon. To make it an even better experience we were happy to have Jen and Grace and Marney and Hazel join us to dance and shake and do the bug. My little groupie danced on her seat, on my shoulders, on the balcony, and in the baby mosh pit (hehehe) then she wanted to get closer to the stage, and closer and closer and as Dan Zanes and friends ended the show with 'Bye bye my Rosieanna' and danced through the audience, Piper wanted to follow him and meet him.

Marney and Hazel hadn't heard Dan Zanes before and after a few songs were up dancing and having the best time. I think we have some new fans in the crowd.

Hot Disco Dancers

Piper and Grace got to do the roller coaster and dance to the love shack on Sunday for the last Baby Loves Disco until the fall. They had so much fun dancing in the bubbles, eating yummy snacks and shakin to the grooves. What Fun!

Piper lets mama give her a massage while she waits for her friend Grace to show up at Baby Loves Disco on March 30th. Piper was a wee bit on the ticklish side, but wanted the massage anyway. There was a lot of laughing going on.

GOOD TIMES LADIES, GOOD TIMES

SNOW WAY!!!!!

The cherry blossoms adorn the trees surrounding Portland. Daffodils line the parks, and gardens. It is Spring Time...with SNOW? Piper stands in our front yard with flowers and snow. Crazy days indeed! While not enough fell or stuck to the ground, it was kind of fun, and yet scary at the same time to see Snow in Spring.
